Our Wine Brand Selections

Amalia, Cascina in Langa, situated on the hills of Monforte d’Alba, is the ideal starting point for a journey of discovery of the tastes of Langhe. Beginning in 2003 the Boffa family – Luigi Antonio with his wife, Maria Angela Brosio, and son Paolo – bought the business, purchased over 10 hectares of vineyards, renovated the farmstead and built a state-of-the-art winery on site. Our vineyards are in Monforte d’Alba, in the respective areas of S. Anna, Montagliarotto and the prestigious areas of Cru Bussia and Le Coste.
“I was thoroughly impressed by the wine quality; both contemporary and pure. The value for money ratio coupled with the presentation is just outstanding. Organic and sustainable farming is practised.”

The Belisario Company was founded in 1971; it is one of the largest Verdicchio of Matelica DOC wine producers. All vineyards are held in the Alta Valle Esina. This valley is the difference, the continental and microclimate provides an accumulation of flavours, perfect maturation and a terrific array of sensory evaluation.
“I tasted all of their Verdicchios and I kept coming back to this wine. The style of the Verdicchios from Matelica is simply richer and more expressive than the better known Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi. I did love the precise floral aspect, strength, minerality and freshness as Matelica is renowned for. The company owns 24 hectares of Organic vineyards and practices sustainable farming.”

From Eastern Veneto lands, located between the hills of Treviso and the Adriatic sea, Pinot grigio has been cultivated in the commune for centuries and nurtured by the noble families of Venice whom produced fine wines they put on their own tables.
Thanks to their production rules and regulations the Wines of the Canal Grando line protect the quality of this historically prestigious land. Canal Grando forms part of a range produced by esteemed Bosco Viticultori which is located in Salgareda, a small town in the hearth of Veneto, a region of NE Italy with a historical tradition of wine making. Since 2009 the Company has been part of Vi.V.O. (Viticoltori Veneto Orientale – an association of Eastern Veneto wine growers), which is the major cooperative for NE Italy wine making.

Two centuries have passed since Vermentino landed in Sardinia. It immediately found its ideal habitat here in Gallura thus becoming a symbol for the entire island. It is precisely these soils, sandy but with a marked granite matrix, that gives the grapes their intense aromas and correct acidity.
The flagship of Cantina Gallura is the "Vermentino di Gallura," the only wine in Sardinia to be awarded, since 1996, of the much Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin.

Cantine Galasso is a privately owned winery located in Loreto Aprutino, Abruzzo Region, in one of the most qualified areas for vine growing. This area is harmoniously embedded in the landscape, between the Adriatic Coast and the Gran Sasso Mountain, made mostly of vineyards and extensive olive trees fields.
The Galasso family came from Northern Italy and has been operating in Abruzzo since the end of 1800. The, at the time, large patriarchal family that bought the land and settled in this area, has always been producing extra virgin olive oil, fruit and grape and trading their own products. In the mid sixties the patriarchal family underwent a complete change in structure and split dividing the business into various streams. Ettore Galasso, the present owner, took over most of the vineyards and in the seventies started bottling his own wine. In the past few years his daughter Stefania, joined her father in the business after graduating in Economy.

Montello and Asolo Hills: this area embraces a lot of history and traditions. Mentioned by Dante in the Divine Comedy, described by the sixteenth-century painter Giorgione, a lively centre of the renaissance court of Queen Cornaro (queen of Cyprus exiled to Asolo in 1450) and of the Serenissima Republic. The area offers incredible natural beauty, authentic and traditional architecture and superb oeno-gastronomic experiences. Vines have been cultivated in these areas for centuries and the wines they produce have always been considered among the best.

Since 1925 Fasoli Gino Winery produces white and red wines, coming from the lower Illasi valley at the east side of Verona country. This area has a great vocation for oenological productions thanks to the type of terrains and its particular microclimate. The vinery products are entirely made from biological farming. Fasoli’s first foray into organic cultivation came in 1980 and since 1984 all of our vineyards have become organic. In 1990 they were A.I.A.B approved. “The key words are innovation and experimentation, in addition to the use of organic and biodynamic viticulture, the winery is experimenting with a sulphite free production and use of indigenous yeast. Harmonious, seductive, full and intensely perfumed, are words that kept resonating.

Situated In the region of Apulia near the township of Lecce, this winery is in the very heart of Salento and its sun soaked landscape. Cosimo has reclaimed the philosophy of respect and tradition whilst improving and modernising the approach to winemaking. This rose made of 100% Negroamaro typifies that this region can produce wines which are vibrant, fresh, fruit driven and with some level of complexity.
“One of the other style of rose produced has a Greek slang name which means “to get drunk". With such a consumer ready style of wine, it is very simple to understand why.."

After twenty five years working with his brother Giulano, in 2005 Renato set up his own winery, producing the classic Piedmontese wines from his 7 hectares in Annunziata, La Morra.
“I was totally mesmerised by the quality of his wines and the depth of these Barolos, specifically the Rocche which took me to a different planet. Renato is a little eccentric, all adding to his charm, there were originally no websites, no tasting notes, social media is unheard of, and there are some fantastic stories centred on the ‘welcome' given to wine writers, or lack thereof. Regardless ,I fell in love with the virtue, purity and classic lines of his wines. The younger generation is assiting with a more modern approach, whilst the wines are reacing a new heights.

The Village of Castagnoli lies in the heart of Chianti, a region whose beauty is almost impossible to describe, and it rises from the heart of the Chianti Classico area, arguably one of the highest elevation in the district. The fortress is located on top of the hill, nestled among vineyards, olive trees and rows of cypress trees. The property owns over 800 hectares with only 75 planted.
“Castagnoli honed their wines by conducting a very extensive research across 134 Sangiovese clones, from those selecting 19, and finally working with the best 4. Among these 4, one was officially recognised and ratified by decree and called RDC, an honour befitting the calibre of this winery. Consequently Castagnoli produces Sangiovese and Chianti Classico with their own Clones. A traditional Tuscan producer, using a classic approach with precise winemaking and terrific fruit quality.”

The wine estate stands on the slopes of the San Biagio hill in La Morra, one of the eleven villages forming the area where Barolo wine is produced. The farm stretches out over 18 hectares (45 acres), and has belonged to the Roggero family for generations. Surrounded by splendid vineyards, it enjoys a spectacular panorama opening out onto the Langhe, a range of hills packed with history and castles. Old documents preserved in the village archives show that San Biagio hill was known of as far back as the middle ages. Indeed, the term Sancte Blaxius appears in a 1477 entry in the local land registry, when a Benedictine monastery (San Biagio Priory, 1050 AD) used to grow vines here. All the estate vineyards are part of the Great Vineyards of Barolo within the Commune of La Morra: with resolution no. 21 of 15 April 1994, the village council established the boundaries of the crus recognized as being prime sites for the growing of the Nebbiolo variety used to produce Barolo wine.
The old cellar is located in the original farmhouse dating back to 1923. Here, various vintages of Barolo age in large casks stood beneath a high, narrow-vaulted brick ceiling. A new winery was built alongside in the year 2000, equipped with a modern vinification area, and a floor underground providing the perfect surroundings for wines to mature.
The family-run business is co-ordinated by the company's owner, Giovanni, while agrotechnician Davide is responsible for looking after the vineyards and implementing plant protection measures in compliance with EU directives on environmentally friendly farming, and winemaker Gianluca handles the vinification, giving the wines their inimitable style and respecting their varietal qualities.

The heart of the winery lies in the centre of the farm estate in Imola, where only estate-grown grapes are vinified. All of the vineyards are managed according the principles of sustainable viticulture, which mandates inter-row cover-cropping and the lowest possible use of chemicals. In addition, recent years have witnessed surprising gains as a result of considering the phases of the moon in relation to certain vineyard management practices (one of the doctrines in biodynamic agriculture). The winemaking is animated by a philosophy of minimal intervention. Every step is carried out with full respect not only for the integrity of the fruit, but above all for the unique character of each growing year.
“What a discovery! Amazing value-for-money wines, a novel approach and the embodiment of biodynamic principals. The Petrignone is synonymous with Sergio the founder, firm, expressive, cheeky and full of life.”

This Amarone della Valpolicella is produced in the hills or Colline de Valpolicella near Verona, from parcels drawn around the township of Ilasi.
The blend is made from the traditional varieties Corvina, Rondinella and Mollinaro. Amarone della Valpolicella is about as distinctive as red wine gets. Of the world’s major reds sought out by consumers and collectors, Amarone is the only wine that is made by air-drying the grapes for months prior to pressing them. It’s the air-drying, or appassimento, of grapes that gives Amarone many – but not all – of its distinctive qualities.
Very deep ruby. Aromas and flavors of coffee and cocoa complement red cherry and dark plum nuances. Smooth and dense with hints of raisins and figs macerated in alcohol emerge with aeration on the long smooth finish. Easygoing yet very concentrated Amarone that boasts noteworthy purità. My guess is this will be ready to drink sooner than most other 2013 Amarones. Spends two years in oak and clocks in at only 14.5% alcohol, which is positively light for a modern-day Amarone yet is in line with the style of the wines of Negrar / San Pietro which are usually the fruitiest.

Alpha Crucis is the brightest star in the Southern Cross constellation, the most conspicuous star formation visible from the southern hemisphere. It is often abbreviated to A-Crux (or Cross) or simply denoted with the symbol.
Alpha Crucis wines are an extension of this maxim, aspiring to be the best and brightest wines from our vineyards and to reflect a sense of place and our efforts in the vineyard and winery.
Alpha Crucis wines are only released in those years that satisfy our uncompromising principles of quality and varietal integrity. Consequently production of the wines may not occur in years where the climate or vintage conditions challenge these principles.

Marananga Estate
Located near the hamlet of Marananga on the western side of the Barossa Valley, our vineyards are set amongst beautiful rolling hills which directly affect the flavour characters associated with each vineyard block. The soil is rich in ironstone and quartzite, ideal for producing deeply flavoured fruit.
The Barossa Valley is made up of a patchwork of different “Parishes” or sub-regions that all have their own unique soils and micro climates. These different characteristics are reflected in the diversity of the wine they produce. At Curator Wine Co, we harvest grapes for many vineyards spread throughout the Barossa Valley in different Parishes; from Marananga, Stone Well, Gomersal, Greenock and Vine Vale. This Shiraz reflects all the complexity of combining the separate parcels together, with a mixture of dark and red berry fruits, beautiful oak supporting the juicy mid palate and lovely long powdering tannins on the finish.

The Helen’s Hill wine range holds the spirit of those who have gone before us. It celebrates passion, persistence and the genuine connection between people and land.
Each wine is hand crafted and undergoes an arduous selection process before it makes it into a Helen’s Hill bottle. As we know, great wine is made in the vineyard and as such only small select parcels of fruit from certain rows of our single vineyard site are hand picked at harvest. Each wine is fermented in select French oak barrels under the watchful eye of winemaker Scott McCarthy. Prior to bottling each barrel is tasted and ranked with only the best barrels being selected for the Helen’s Hill range of wines.

Terroir Wines reflect the simple pleasures that can be derived from nature and a sense of place. Terroir wines express the unique natural gifts bestowed upon those world renowned wine regions.
The Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from three distinctive Marlborough sub regions (Waihopai, Wairau, and Awatere).
The Pinot Noir is sourced primarily from 2 distinctive regions the Alexandra basin and the Cromwell district in Central Otago.
Terroir is the culmination of selective parcels and the precise characteristics they wish to reflect.
Clean, vibrant wines that deliver true varietal character, complexity and texture presented within an elegant framework and classy packaging.

The vineyard was planted back in 1980 with the first vines bearing fruit for making small amounts of the first wines in 1986. Since then David Anderson and son Liam have gained somewhat ‘Cult’ notoriety for the wines now being made. The focus is on full, rich red wines that encapsulate the region and also express the desire to not shy away from body and strength with a definite elegance and expression of variety. Our grapes are hand harvested, we then ferment our red varieties in open-top fermenters, gently hand plunging every 4-6 hours for optimal tannin extraction. We use some whole bunch in some ferments for added texture and complexity. This varies from season to season depending on the ripeness of stalk and the overall season.
All wines are basket pressed, including our whites, using our home made presses. We use a low pressure and longer pressing times to gently extract the juice/wine. This avoids the harsh phenolic that come from crushed seeds. Wild Duck Creek Estate Springflat Shiraz was originally a single vineyard wine based on the low-yielding, two-hectare Springflat Vineyard planted in 1988. It now also includes dry-grown Shiraz from around Heathcote and Mt Camel. The soils in this region are diverse, ranging from mudstones and shales to pre-Cambrian red earths. Winemaking is ‘nothing fancy’. Vinification takes place in a mixture of different-sized open fermenters. Contemporary vintages are matured in a 50/50 combination of heavy-toasted American and French oak. Typically this densely concentrated wine is ‘pitch dark’ in colour with lifted violet/ camomile/ dark cherry/ mocha/ graphite aromas and flavours with fine, supple, plentiful chocolaty tannins complemented by savoury, malty oak. Just outside Bordeaux, over the famous Pont d’Aquitaine bridge on the right bank of the Garonne, sits the village of Saint-Loubès, home to Château Bel Air Gassies and its 19 hectares of vines. The Château is named in honour of the five generations of the Gassies family who have tended these vineyards with a single, timeless goal: to capture the magnificent complexity of this terroir. Château Bel Air Gassies strikes a successful balance between tradition and modernity: tradition thanks to winemaking expertise built up over five generations, and modernity thanks to the shrewd application of new technologies in the vineyard and the winery.
Château Bel Air Gassies boasts a beautiful ruby-red robe. The nose is dominated by ripe red fruit and dark berry aromas. The opening is supple, expanding to reveal a robust structure underpinned by crisp tannins. Already a pleasure to drink, and should continue to develop for another three or four years. A classic, accessible Bordeaux.

It was in 1900 that the great-grandfather, François Pessonnier, who was already a grape grower in Lansac, acquired Château Lamothe. For more than 100 years, the family had upheld their passion for the terroir and its wines. This passion has been passed so effortlessly through the generations, 10 years ago, Anne Pousse-Pessonnier decided to end a career as a doctor and focus entirely on the estate. It was unthinkable to sever a long history that began as far back as 1820, recognised for the first time in September 1868. In the second edition of the “Bordeaux et ses vins” wine guide in that year, Charles Cocks referred to the Château among the “Cru Bourgeois” of Côtes des Bourg. 2001 saw the launch of the “Réserve Joubert”
AUTHENTIC CÔTES DE BOURG WINE, "Château Lamothe “Réserve Joubert” reveals an extensive palette of aromas, featuring ripe, dark fruits accompaniedby spicy notes. The Coteaux Varois vineyard in Provence is located in the heart of "Provence limestone". In the narrow basins and valleys, production is strictly defined in twenty-eight communes grouped around Brignoles, formerly the summer residence of the Counts of Provence. Its terroir is distinguished by marked reliefs that rise from 600 to more than 1,000 meters for the Sainte-Baume massif. The vines grow in altitude: 350 meters on average, 500 meters for the highest parcels. In addition, the presence of the rock massifs of Sainte-Baume in the West, the Bessillons in the north and the Bar de Cuers in the south stop the maritime influences. All this relief gives the climate of Coteaux Varois in Provence a continental character: the autumns and often very soft spring alternate with sometimes hot summers and very cold and rigorous winters more marked than in the rest of the region
Nearby the Verdon regional Park, at 300 meters above sea level, the Domaine de Cantarelle spreads over 130 hectares of vineyards in an outstanding natural cirque. The vineyards benefit from a clay and limestone type soil and from the generous sunshine of Provence. Gorged with fruit and sun, the wines of Cantarelle are cheerful and have a gourmet and fresh taste.
Domaine de Cantarelle is using sustainable practices. They are pursuing an Organic approach and have minimal sulphur added to their wines.

Organically Produced - Low Alcoholic wines 9.5% alc/volume
Created in 1974 in an historic "terroir", Domaine de l'Herré's 130 hectares of vineyards stretch out over the south-facing slopes of a crest, Located in the Gers, at the heart of Gascony, next to Eauze, offering an exceptional view of the Pyrenees. Domaine de l'Herré produces Côtes de Gascogne white wines from a wide diversity of grape varieties: mostly Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gros Manseng and Colombard.
The micro-climate of Gascony, the fawn sand soil and high standards set by the people who work it result in fresh wines offering exceptional aromatic strength. Wines for pleasure and for sharing, a must-not-miss.
South-east, south and south-west facing, the vineyards at Domaine de l'Herré are planted on one of the best terroirs in the appellation, mainly composed of fawn sands (sand, ferrite and clay). Contrary to many French vineyards, this soil remains neutral in its organoleptic input but has the major advantage, combined with Gascony's specific micro-climate, of adding a constructive acidity to white wines to support the very special expression of Sauvignon.
The Côtes de Gascogne vineyards mainly cover the Gers "département". Annual production is 900,000 hectolitres of which 91% are white wines. This vineyard was born under a lucky star: in a terroir swept by a temperate ocean climate; its history goes back more than 15 centuries. Like its Musketeers and its Armagnac, its white wines now contribute to its reputation.

Domaine Roux Pere & Fils was founded in 1885 with a mere 4 hectares in the village of Saint-Aubin in the heart of Burgundy, France. Under the leadership of the 3rd and 4th generation, Marcel Roux and his son Christian, the family’s proprietary vineyard holdings have expanded to include more than 70 hectares located throughout the Côte d’Or, most extensively in the sub-region of Côte de Beaune. Today, Domaine Roux is one of the top 10 largest landholders in the region, wholly owned and operated by the 4th and 5th generation. Its vines are planted exclusively on eastern and southern facing slopes, benefiting from premium exposures. Their vast holdings are comprised of varying soils. All grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and vinified in accordance with the appellation’s regulations.
With steadfast attention to detail, Domaine Roux combines valuable traditions with the most advanced technology to produce a vast portfolio of terroir-driven, varietally accurate expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir renowned for superior quality.

Passion, flavor, terroir: three words that have never ceased to inhabit Grimaud winegrowers since January 1932 when, under the leadership of eight men invested and determined, the Societe des Vignerons was born.
The desire to progress, adapt, innovate has animated the generations of winemakers who have followed one another at the winery. Eight decades later, the will and the ability of these men to look into the future have made this winery one of the most important of the Var, which gathers 203 members cultivating 900 hectares of vines.
The vineyard spread over the communes of Grimaud, Cogolin, La Mole, Plan Tour, La Garde Freinet, Gassin, Ramatuelle, Sainte Maxime.
Consequence of the extent and variety of the terroir: there is not one but several types of Côtes de Provence. Each has its own geological and climatic personality. Eight production basins make up the appellation: the Maritime Border, Notre-Dame des Anges, the Haut Pays, the Bassin du Beausset, the Sainte-Victoire mountain, Fréjus, La Londe and Pierrefeu. Currently, four local appellations are recognized, each of which produces wines with a marked typicity: Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire, Côtes de Provence Fréjus, Côtes de Provence La Londe and Côtes de Provence Pierrefeu.
Since 2009, the Cave is engaged in an upstream quality approach. The members benefit from a technical follow-up with advice in support. A weekly phytosanitary bulletin is published and distributed to all taking stock of the practices to be performed and the pressure of the various diseases of the vineyard. All plots are visited before harvest and prioritized using an evaluation grid. Parcel selections allow us to produce a very consistent range of wines.
The immediate proximity of the Mediterranean Sea conditions the climatology specific to this sector. Winter and summer temperatures are reduced. Annual precipitation is particularly low (less than 700 mm / year). The duration of insolation is important and the ventilation regime by sea breezes is almost permanent and of high amplitude.

For almost seven centuries, the vines have been cultivated at the Oiselinière. From 1335, we speak of vines. Of course, at the time, the latter were not used to make wine but alcohol. We called them “toasting” wines.
The first Muscadet vines appeared in the south of Nantes in 1635 and it was at the Oiselinière that they were planted there. A parchment, deposited in the Departmental Archives attests to this. We read the following: Jean Goulet de la Fosse de Nantes, bailiff for several individuals of the parish of Gorges, a 78 bushel piece called “Grands Gats”, depending on the land of the Oiselinière, to plant it in vines white Muscadet ”. These plots are always the same. The property remained in one piece. All the vines are grouped around the Château.
They face south-west and dominate the right bank of the Sèvre Nantaise. This plateau is made up of a source rock called "gabbro". Gabbro is a rock which, unlike basalt, has undergone slow cooling allowing crystallization, hence the presence of crystals. Its grainy structure is green / black and very dense, called plutonic. This exceptional soil, the sunny exposure as well as the constant ventilation of the vines give birth to particularly aromatic and fine wines.
Matured on its lees until bottling, giving it an attractive "prickle" on the palate and nice weight. Clean tasting with crisp mouth-watering acidity and a bright, bone dry minerality and lovely interplays of lime blossom, tangy orange zest and an apple bite. A consistently great producer of this style of white wine made from the Gros Plan grape."
2019 Vintage coming early March

Situated on the beautiful slopes of Thauvenay in the Loire Valley, several generations have worked at this Domaine perfecting the process that makes Robert Cantin wines so good. Currently fourth generation, handed down from father to son the Domaine spreads over 32 hectares. Producing wines from various appellations in the Loire Valley, they search for quality at every step of the process, from making sure the vine yields are low, to doing as much of the vinification by hand as possible (or in the case of crushing the grapes, by feet!) We have a strict management to the vineyard (organic approach, no herbicide, grass-growing, hoeing, ploughing, disbudding, green harvest…), hard work in the winery (wild/natural yeasts…).The wines are made to reflect their appellation, while still retaining a house style, and offer superb, artisan quality at very good prices.
Varietal tipicity, floral, fruit ripeness and the traditional flint with mineral structure is the hallmark of these wines. Clean, fresh, vibrant and so contemporary in style.
